Bridgerton Royalty: Queen Charlotte's Story at Blenheim Palace

Costumes and Iconic Scenes

On display from Thursday 7th September 2023

As a key filming location for 'Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story,' we are delighted to announce that a selection of costumes is now on display at the Palace, showcasing many iconic scenes from the record-breaking period drama.

The featured costumes include the wedding dress worn by young Queen Charlotte as she climbs the Palace walls, where she first meets young King George. Additionally, Queen Charlotte's peach and green ensemble and King George's corresponding dark grey and aubergine outfit from their inaugural dinner as a married couple are on display.

You can also view the dress from Queen Charlotte's iconic "under the bed" scene, along with her wig, which makes its appearance at the end of the series.

Many of the show’s scenes at Buckingham House (now known as Buckingham Palace) were filmed at Blenheim Palace - including the key dining moment between young Queen Charlotte and King George, and the famous Water Terraces which were magically transformed into the enchanting outdoor space where the final ball takes place. The space was filled with incredible dancers and courtiers for the scene from Episode 6.

Blenheim Palace was the ideal choice as Buckingham House, due to its real-life connections with Queen Charlotte and King George lll. The duo shared a close friendship with the 4th Duke and Duchess of Marlborough, and after their visit to Blenheim Palace, they were so inspired that they embarked on renovating Buckingham House.
