Shadow & Motion - now on display

Set in the historic setting of The Stables, this exhibition offers visitors a meditative, stirring and uplifting encounter with the universal rhythms of shadow and change. Drawing from the introspective, figurative works of Jean-Pierre De Rosnay and the tonal, journey-led compositions of Louisa Foster, the exhibition invites visitors to move through visual narratives that oscillate between clarity and concealment.

Jean Pierre De Rosnay
Oil paintings: Figurative and equine.
Themes: Suspended movement, human vulnerability, mythic symbolism.
Approach: De Ronsay’s work uses deep tonal contrast to capture fleeting emotional states. Bodies twist in water, horses gallop through indistinct light, shadows wrap around figures like memories.

Louisa Foster
Oil paintings: Tonal, semi abstraction landscapes
Themes: Journey, memory, transitional light, emotional pathways
Approach: Fosters paintings are rich in atmosphere, with pathways through forested light, abstracted traces of human presence.
