Dogs during Christmas at Blenheim Palace

We are excited to welcome dogs onto the Illuminated Light Trail on selected dates this year.

• Dogs are permitted on the trail only on the dates below. On all other dates, only assistance/guide dogs are permitted.

• No separate booking is required to bring a dog on a dog-friendly date - standard trail tickets apply.

 

Rules for dog owners

• A maximum of two dogs per person is permitted on the trail.
• Dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times. Extended/retractable leads are not permitted.
• Dogs must remain on the marked trail path at all times.
• Dogs must be well-behaved and under control. Please keep your dog from approaching other visitors, especially children, who may not be confident around dogs. Any dog showing aggression toward people or other dogs will not be permitted to continue on the trail.
• XL Bully dogs and any other banned or restricted breed under the Dangerous Dogs Act are not permitted on site under any circumstances.
• Dogs are not permitted inside the Palace on any date during Christmas at Blenheim Palace, with the exception of assistance/guide dogs.
• Dogs are permitted in the Great Courtyard and the Pantry Café.
• Please dispose of dog waste in the bins provided.
• Please do not leave dogs unattended in parked cars. We reserve the right to report dogs in distress to the RSPCA.
• Dog water bowls are located around the courtyards.

 

Assistance and Guide Dogs

Assistance and guide dogs are welcome on the trail on any date, and inside the Palace, regardless of the dates above. If your dog is an emotional support animal rather than a registered assistance dog, please contact us in advance, as ESAs are considered on a case-by-case basis and are not automatically covered by this exception.

 

A Note on the Trail Environment

The Illuminated Light Trail involves large crowds, loud music, moving light projections and low-light conditions. If your dog is nervous around noise, flashing lights or busy crowds, please consider whether the trail is right for them, or choose a quieter time slot where possible. Staff reserve the right to refuse admission, or ask an owner to leave the trail, if a dog's welfare or behaviour becomes a concern.
