Palace State Rooms/Interior

Our State Rooms carry three centuries of collection and craftsmanship. Ceilings by Sir James Thornhill, tapestries recording the 1st Duke's campaigns and a Long Library that runs to 55 metres. Much of the Palace State Rooms feature in Ridley Scott's Napoleon (2023). Spaces include:

Palace Courtyard/Exterior

Designed by Sir John Vanbrugh in the 18th century, the Palace exterior is a masterpiece of Baroque architecture. The Great Court and surrounding colonnades have stood in for Rome in Spectre (2015), the Queen's residence in Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story (2023) and even played a key role in season 2 of Amazon Prime's The Diplomat (2024).

The Gardens

Featuring in Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story (2023), the Italian style Water Terraces are the ideal location for period pieces, particularly regency balls. The wider Gardens are full of green spaces including:

The Great Estate

Beyond the Palace and Formal Gardens, we have over 2,000 acres of Parkland and a working Estate beyond that. Capability Brown's park gives sweeping, unbroken landscapes for drone and vehicle work, while our working farmhouses and Estate buildings outside the World Heritage boundary offer rural, lived-in settings for productions that need somewhere other than a stately home.

Television

Beyond feature film and drama, the Palace, Gardens and Estate are also available for live broadcast and television productions. Good Morning Britain, BBC Breakfast and ITV This Morning and Comic Relief have all broadcast live from the grounds, whilst Channel 4 has produced the popular 'Christmas at Blenheim Palace' documentary series. Other high profile shows such as BBC'S Countryfile and a Channel 5 documentary series 'Blenheim Behind The Grandeur' have explored the Gardens and wider Estate, bringing our landscape and history to a national audience. From breakfast sofas to historical hits and charity telethons, the Palace offers broadcasters the same scale and heritage that draws major feature productions.
