Get ready for an exhilarating adventure as we unveil our all new Rooftop View at Blenheim Palace. For the first time ever as we restore the Palace roof, you'll have the chance to ascend to the rooftops of Britain's Greatest Palace and witness breathtaking views.

Our specially designed platform offers stunning views that will leave you awestruck. Spot the Grand Bridge and Great Court, including views towards the famous Column of Victory.

Whether you're a history enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply in search of the perfect photo opportunity, our Rooftop View promises something truly special for everyone.

Why is the Roof Restoration so important?

This is a crucial new undertaking that we must deliver if we are to secure the future of wall and ceiling paintings of international importance, whilst also protecting the Palace from further damage. We're not just maintaining a structure; we're safeguarding a legacy.

Welcome to the Palace Rooftop Experience. Please have your cameras ready! Do note that there are 109 steps to the viewing platform, so get ready and adhere to the following safety rules:

  • You must be at least 110cm tall to access the Experience
  • Children MUST be supervised at all times
  • No smoking anywhere on the route
  • Only small backpacks are permitted
  • Please wear practical shoes, no high-heeled shoes or flip flops
  • No running up the staircases
  • Please stick to the one-way system
  • On hearing the fire alarm, make your way to the nearest exit for evacuation

Accessibility Information:

  • Not suitable for Mobility scooters or Pushchairs.
  • Wheelchair accessible (Accessible priority lifts available on request).

It is important to note that the following may impact on your ability to participate:

  • Heart conditions
  • Pregnancy
  • Vertigo, dizziness or any other conditions that may cause loss of balance
  • Fear of heights
  • Respiratory conditions
  • Visual impairment
  • Depression
  • Epilepsy
  • Back, joint or limb injuries
  • Severe or uncontrolled asthma
  • Having suffered a seizure in the past six months

Tour Information

  • Please be aware that Rooftop Tours include walking on a narrow walkway, with exposure to weather. In certain conditions, access to the Experience will be paused by the team, including during high winds, and wet/icy conditions.
  • We suggest you do not come on the roof-top tour if you have any knee or back or heart issues that may be affected by walking up the stairs on to the platform or if you are heavily pregnant.
  • When climbing or descending the stairs please keep to the left/right and hold on to the handrail.
  • To manage numbers we will operate a count in/out system. This may mean some delays on busy days.
  • This is a working environment. Please be aware that there may be dust, noise and smells in the area that you may find unfamiliar.
