The Formal Gardens, created by world-renowned designers such as Henry Wise and Achille Duchêne, reflect a journey through the styles of the ages. Surrounding the Palace, they include the majestic Water Terraces, the Duke's Private Italian Garden, the tranquil Secret Garden with all of its hidden treasures, the Churchill Memorial Garden and the beautifully delicate Rose Garden.

Meander through our 2,000 acre Parkland and immerse yourself in nature which surrounds the Palace and Formal Gardens. Pop on your walking boots and explore all there is to offer, from bird watching near the Great Lake to nature spotting near our historic ancient oaks.

Restoration

Our Gardens and Parkland are currently undergoing restoration to take them back to a more representative 18th century Parkland. Our Garden’s restoration plan will span across 10 years and will see our Head Gardener, Andy Mills and his team, make some changes across each area.
