Five activities for families this summer at Blenheim Palace

There is something to do for everyone at Blenheim Palace.

Sun's out, schools out and families everywhere are looking for something to do to keep everyone entertained over the summer holiday. We’ve got you covered here at Blenheim Palace, so read ahead to avoid those summer blues.

P.S. Everything below is included in a Palace, Park & Gardens ticket or your Annual Pass.

1. Lettuce celebrate a perfect picnic day

Grab your favourite snacks and your best blanket and come along for a good old-fashioned picnic at the Palace. Soak up the sun and let the children run free in our park, take in the stunning views, and relax in our dedicated picnic areas. Make sure to leave room and treat yourself to an ice cream!

2. Hidden in ‘train’ sight

When visiting the Palace, a ride on the train is a must. The train costs £1 per journey, per person and takes you right to the centre of family entertainment in our Walled Garden. It’s the perfect way to start your day.

Fly away to the butterfly house

Take a stroll through a tropical climate and explore our Butterfly House. Located in the Walled Garden, we’ve welcomed visitors through the doors since the early 1980s. There are several different breeds to spot from all over the globe. The exotic colours and flowers are sure to grab your attention.

Be A-MAZED

Get lost in the Marlborough Maze. The maze is two miles in length and made up of hundreds of yew trees in a design inspired by the history of Blenheim Palace. Be sure to get out in time for tea!

Time slides when you're having fun

A hop, skip and a jump away from the Maze you can find our adventure playground, found in the Walled Garden. Fully equipped with slides, swings, monkey bars and a coffee shop nearby, it’s the perfect spot for a summer's day.

And so much more!

During our summer months, Blenheim Palace is buzzing with activities for all ages. For 2022 experience The Peter Rabbit Garden Adventure, dress up like a Duke or Duchess on our Palace trail, celebrate the 1st Duke at the action-packed Marlborough 300 Pageant, plus so much more. Discover our full events programme.
