COVID Announcement December 2021

We have measures in place to ensure that our visitors and staff are safe while onsite. We are also continually reviewing our measures and adapting our safety measures based on any government updates. We're Good to Go

Due to the recent Government announcement, all guests are required to wear a face covering within indoor areas (unless medically exempt).

We will continue to:

  • Wear face coverings in indoor areas.
  • Provide sanitiser and hand washing facilities across the site.
  • Use one way systems.
  • Operate a cashless system.
  • Undertake increased cleaning of our facilities, surfaces and touch points.

We will ask you to:

  • Wear a face covering in indoor spaces unless medically exempt.
  • Purchase your tickets or Annual Pass online in advance of your visit.
  • Remain one metre from other guests within indoor areas.
  • Follow the guidance across the site or ask a member of our Guest Services Team if you are unsure.
  • Be kind to our team onsite who are working to keep everyone onsite safe
  • Rearrange your visit if you are legally required to self-isolate according to current government guidelines, including following travel abroad, or if you are demonstrating any symptoms of Covid-19.

As a venue, Blenheim doesn’t meet the government criteria for needing a COVID passport for entry. However, we recommend following the government guidance in relation to undertaking a lateral flow testing before visiting an indoor space.

We feel that these measures are a reasonable and fair approach, as the safety of staff and visitors is our top priority.

Please adhere to all Government Guidelines before your visit.

Parking should be purchased through See Tickets, either separately or when booking tickets for the Kingdom of the Snow Queen or the Lights Trail. Annual Pass Holders who have not pre-booked will be charged £10 for parking, subject to availability on the day. This doesn't guarantee a space, please pre-book through See Tickets for guaranteed parking with the link above.

If parking is not pre-booked, Annual Pass Holders are eligible for a £10 on-the-day parking fee (in place of the standard £12 on-the-day fee), subject to availability on the day. This doesn't guarantee a space; please pre-book through See Tickets for guaranteed parking.

Buying an Annual Pass during Christmas

Purchasing a ticket for the Kingdom of the Snow Queen gives you the option of donating the cost of admission to convert it to an Annual Pass, the same as buying a Palace, Park and Gardens day ticket outside the Christmas period.

We welcome your support in donating your admission to the Blenheim Palace Heritage Foundation. With your help we can continue to complete vital restoration and conservation works to keep Blenheim maintained and secure for future generations.

It's easy to convert your Snow Queen ticket to an Annual Pass either during your Christmas visit or on your next visit. The Annual Pass will start from the original date of your Snow Queen ticket. If you are eligible, subsequently agreeing to Gift Aid will also help us.

What should I bring and wear?

The Illuminated Light Trail takes place outdoors and you may need to queue outdoors for The Palace on busy days. Please wear appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear. We reserve the right to refuse inappropriately clothed patrons access to the trail if it is felt they are open to a greater risk of injury.

In line with the updated Government Guidance, we remind all guests that a face covering must be worn in our shop.

The East Courtyard gift shop will be open between 9.30 and 22.00 and will be well stocked with a variety of Christmas gifts.

Opening times for exhibitions

Opening times can vary during the Christmas period. Please check back on our website for up to date information if weather conditions are bad.

Certain exhibitions are still open but may have different timings from the opening times of the Christmas attractions, the gardens and the park. Please refer to the relevant exhibition page for more information and exact timings.

Food and Drink

A wide range of seasonal food and drink will be available to purchase in the East Courtyard and along the Illuminated Light Trail, including mulled wine and mince pies.

Food and drink are strictly prohibited within the Palace.
