The Spencer-Churchill family have amongst their ancestors people of national and international significance.

The 1st Duke of Marlborough was one of the country’s most famous Generals. The 8th Duke was an inventor who worked with Thomas Edison and who persuaded his father that the railway needed to come to Woodstock. Sir Winston Churchill, grandson of the 7th Duke of Marlborough, was born at Blenheim Palace and became one of Britain’s greatest leaders.

This visit examines the lives of the members of the Spencer-Churchill family who were historically significant and the impact they had both locally and nationally.
