Rural Projects

Our Rural Team is involved in lots of projects within the local community and the surrounding area.

  • We donate more than 100 Christmas trees to local parishes, churches and schools, including a giant tree for Woodstock Town Hall
  • Students at several local schools are part of our 'Forest School' programme, and are welcomed onto the Estate once a week to learn and play in our woods
  • We provide access for numerous Scout groups to the woodlands on our Estate
  • We also provide access for Abingdon and Witney College to practice forestry in Pinsley wood, and allow Kidlington Fire Service regular access to our woods to train county firefighters
  • As part of the 'Acorns to Ancients' Project, we have donated six bags of Blenheim Oak acorns to Doncaster HM Prison. The project involves inmates growing their own trees and reaping the benefits of them
  • Our Forestry Team members have carved wooden furniture for Woodstock Primary School's Mud Learning room, and have provided Springfield School with carved log seats
  • The team has also donated lengths of wood to Oxford Woodcraft Folk for children to learn carving whilst at summer camp
