Tour: Creating an Architectural Masterpiece

When Blenheim Palace was built its arhitectural style was controversial.  People were astounded by its size and drama. This talk look at the people who actually built the Palace from the architect, Vanbrugh to the stone masons.  The talk will highlight some of the unique features of the building and will also consider some of the problems encountered in the building of what is now a World Heritage Site.

Details and booking procedure

The day begins at 10.30am with coffee and biscuits in the Palace's Indian Room.  The talk commences at 11am, followed by a tour of the Palace and/Gardens at 11.30am led by the specialist.  The tour finishes at 12.30pm and you are free to spend the rest of the day in the Palace and grounds.
