What's On: Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials

9 September to 12 September 2010

The Fidelity Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials is in its 20th year of running and is now firmly established in the eventing calender with the world's best riders as well as the thousands of spectators who come each year to watch the event.

After the success of last year in addition to the CCI*** there is also a 8 and 9 year old CIC*** class now incorporating the British 8 and 9 year old National Championship - an opportunity to see the stars of the future in action - try to spot the next Olympic champion!

With the magnificent backdrop of Blenheim Palace the first phase of the competition "Dressage" takes place all day on Thursday and Friday.  On Saturday the cross-country, which is the pivotal part of the whole competition takes place over big solid fences and water jumps across the River Glyme on a timed course which runs around the stunning Parkland of the Palace grounds.  The finale, which is the Show Jumping takes place on Sunday in front of the South Lawn of Blenheim Palace.

In addition to the eventing action there are lots of other activities in other arenas, Pony Club and Riding Clubs team competition on Thursday and Friday.  Plus more than 175 retail outlets!
