'Touch Tour'
Blenheim Palace is pleased to provide a 'Touch Tour' for the visually impaired. The tour provides a specially assigned Guide who will give you rare access to the collection of art, furniture and artefacts. The tour includes the opportunity to touch numerous sculptures and items within the State Rooms, for example Sir Winston Churchill and Clementine, The 9th Duchess Consuelo Vanderbilt, The 7th Duke and Duchess (Sir Winston Churchill's grandparents), gilt tables, elaborate candelabra and much more. You will be able to touch and feel the items to illustrate your guided tour. There is no extra charge for the 'Touch Tour'; however, advanced booking is advisable to ensure a Guide is available. Please contact Cathy Penry to book your tour on 01993 811091.
Disabled visitors
Blenheim Palace welcomes visitors with disabilities and we do all we can to ensure that visitors are able to enjoy as much as possible of this magnificent building and its grounds. We do however strongly recommend that you are accompanied by an able bodied carer.
Unfortunately the carriage on the train that includes the wheel chair space is not working, it requires quite a lot of maintenance to get it fit to use.
Advance Booking
We recommend Groups pre-book visits to Blenheim Palace within the normal opening times. We strongly advise advance booking for groups with three or more wheelchair users. This will enable our staff to ensure that your visit is organised to make sure your visit takes place as smoothly as possible.
Dogs
Guide assistance and support dogs are welcome.
School Groups
Which include Children with Special Needs. The Education Department at Blenheim Palace makes excellent provision for children with special needs. Teachers are requested to contact the Education Officer in advance on 01993 810535.
Special Events
Some of the large events at the Palace require us to make changes to some of the accessible routes around the Palace. Notification of such changes will be posted on the website in advance of the event.
