Searcys are our in-house caterers, managing the stunning Orangery Restaurant and all of our cafés. They are currently recruiting for a wide range of Waiter/Waitress, Food & Beverage Assistant and Hospitality Assistant positions.

Part Time Construction Administrator & Procurement Surveyor

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our busy team as a Construction Administrator & Procurement Surveyor.

Working closely with the Construction Manager, you will provide day to day administrative support across all construction sites, including the efficient and cost effective procurement of materials for a department that has delivered nearly 200 residential units and 7,000sqm of commercial space over the last ten years.

The successful candidate will have considerable experience working within the local construction industry, and have the ability to develop excellent relationships with our internal and external clients.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Day to day administration of construction sites
  • Responsible for the preparation of contractor tender packages and ensuring their timely return
  • Analysis of external tender packages from contractors for presentation to the Construction Manager
  • Responsible for the procurement of materials efficiently and cost effectively for construction projects
  • Apply for utility connections in a timely manner
  • Follow up all required project administration in line with construction project deadlines
  • Liaise with the Property Manager and Construction Manager to produce plans for all legal agreements and obtain consents
  • Liaise with relevant authorities to apply for permissions, such as the Highway Agency and utility companies
  • Approve applications for payment
  • Build relationships with internal and external clients
  • Develop a local construction network 
  • Build on knowledge of the local construction industry

Previous experience in the residential construction industry as well as practical experience of the general operations of a construction site is required for this role. In addition, you must have an understanding of site health and safety and the CDM process and understand the process required to initiate and complete legal agreements.

Seasonal Weekend Office Assistant

Our busy Operations department currently have an opportunity for a Seasonal Weekend Office Assistant to join the team.

The role:

  • Respond to enquiries for Blenheim Palace by telephone and email.
  • Support the Operations Office Manager with administrative duties.
  • Provide office-based support to the Operations Team during events and emergencies.

A knowledge of (or willingness to learn about) Blenheim Palace and it’s Estate is required. Flexibility towards working hours is also required as the role with involve working weekends and Bank Holidays.

Assistant House Manager

A rare opportunity has arisen to assist our House Manager with the conservation, preservation and cleaning of the Palace.

Working closely with the Operations team, your role is paramount to assisting in the smooth running of Palace activities on a day-to-day basis. You will be responsible for the management of cleaning functions in all areas of the Palace, including public areas and hospitality clients. You will also be involved in the annual deep clean.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, a flexible approach to working hours and the ability to work in a demanding and busy environment. Experience in a similar role is desirable.
