  • Marketing Manager

    We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our vibrant and creative Marketing Team at Blenheim Palace. This new role has been created to support the Estate’s ten-year plan.

    Reporting into the Head of Marketing and PR, you will manage three direct reports.

    The role:

    • Managing the implementation of the Marketing & PR strategy – including integrated campaigns, events, and PR to hit the marketing objectives.
    • Managing the consistent implementation of the brand across the business.
    • Guiding the day to day activities of your direct reports of the Content Executive, Media Buyer and Marketing Apprentice.
    • Analyse target audience profiles to develop and deliver marketing communications.
    • Customer Journey Mapping analysing touch points with the organisation and maximising commercial opportunities.
    • Undertake analysis of the competitive environment and consumer trends.
    • Developing and sustaining strong working relationships with all stakeholders – internally and externally.
    • Partnership & sponsorship development to help increase brand awareness and growth.
    • Managing external agencies and ensuring marketing budgets are met.
    • Developing and overseeing the marketing plan for specific channels within the organization.
    • Overseeing the annual communications budget and ensuring its fully maximised.
    • Analysing and reporting back to the business on the results of the marketing and PR delivery.
    • Writing different types of copy depending on its purpose and proof reading all content for quality and brand tone.
    • Supporting the Head of Marketing in any required projects

     

    The Person:

    • Passionate, enthusiastic and driven
    • Previous management of team members directly
    • Confident to represent the business externally at events, with partners and presenting
    • Proven record of delivering multi layered marketing campaigns using the entire marketing mix
    • Strong communicator verbally and written skills
    • Industry knowledge advantageous but not essential

  • Visitor Services Assistant (Full time)

    We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Operations Team on a permanent basis as a Visitor Services Assistant. In this customer-facing role, you will provide excellent customer service to our visitors on a daily basis and will have a positive can-do attitude. Working within the Palace and Grounds on a rota system, including weekends and bank holidays, roles will include car park duties, ticketing, stewarding and general day-to-day tasks around the Palace as required. Full training will be given.

    Full time contracts are 40 hours per week. Previous customer relations experience would be an advantage and flexibility towards hours of work is essential as weekend and bank holiday work will be required.

    Main responsibilities will include: 

    • Delivering excellent customer service to our visitors
    • Issuing tickets, following all till and cash handling procedures
    • Car parking and traffic duties
    • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping
    • Cleaning duties, covering internal and external areas of the Palace, ticket booths and toilet facilities when required
    • Being fully aware of customer and client confidentiality
    • Maintaining high standards of health & safety in accordance with employer's instructions and current legislation
    • Being aware of manual handling regulations
    • Any additional duties considered to be appropriate by your Line Manager

  • Chinese-Speaking Retail Assistant

    We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Retail team as a full time Chinese-Speaking Sales Assistant.

     

    Working as part of a busy team across our two on-site shops, your role will be varied, ensuring that every customer experiences exceptional personal service, while making sure the shop is maintained and merchandised to the highest standards. You will interact with our Chinese visitors helping, advising and selling our products to them.

     

    Previous retail and customer experience would be an advantage and flexibility towards hours of work is essential as weekend and bank holiday work will be required. In return we offer a salary of £15,600 and a beautiful and exciting place to work with full training and attractive benefits.

     

    Responsibilities

    • To acknowledge customers, in a polite and courteous manner, engage with them and understand their needs
    • Develop excellent product knowledge, which will enable you to pass this information to the customers
    • Replenishment of shelves and tables
    • Ensure the shop is tidy, clean and full at the end of the day

    As a Buggy Driver at ‘Britain’s Greatest Palace’, you will escort visitors on tours of the magnificent park and gardens of Blenheim Palace providing memorable experiences for everyone. You will need to be exceedingly friendly and to create a positive impression, deal effectively with difficult situations and to meet the needs of a constantly changing visitor flow.

     

    Main responsibilities will include:

    • Delivering excellent customer service to our visitors
    • Conducting informative and entertaining tours of the Park and Gardens.
    • Maintaining high standards of health & safety in accordance with employer's instructions and current legislation
    • Any additional duties considered to be appropriate by your Line Manager

    A wonderful opportunity has arisen for an experienced, hands on kitchen gardener to work within our private Walled Garden.

     

    The applicant must have expert knowledge of growing a wide range of fruit and vegetables, including award-winning and historical dessert grapes and glasshouse peaches.

     

    This is a full time, permanent position, requiring a self-motivated and enthusiastic person who can bring fresh and exiting ideas to our Walled Garden.

  • Light Trail Hosts - 'Christmas at Blenheim'

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the 'Christmas at Blenheim' Trail Team here at Blenheim Palace during our busy festive period.

    As one of the Light Trail Hosts based along the outdoor visitor route you will provide a warm, friendly, entertaining welcome whilst ensuring you give accurate information and directions for visitors. You will need to be exceedingly friendly, comfortable with outdoor working in all weather conditions and be able to meet the needs of a constantly changing visitor flow.

     

    Main responsibilities include:

    • Providing a warm and enthusiastic welcome to all trail visitors
    • Caring for the public, including informing them of do’s and don’ts and showing them where toilets and catering facilities are located.
    • Quickly and effectively referring needs for first aid to Ground Controller/ Duty Manager
    • Making sure the Formal Gardens are clear before and after the event.

     

    Previous customer service experience would be an advantage and flexibility towards hours of work is essential as weekend and Bank Holiday work will be required.

     

    Please note: this role is based outdoors. Shifts typically run from 16.00-22.00.

  • Welcome Host (Full time)

    We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Operations Team as a Welcome Host Team on a permanent basis. As one of the first points of contact for visitors, you will provide a warm, friendly welcome ensuring you provide accurate information and directions to all areas of the Palace, making sure that their expectations are exceeded at all times. You will need to be exceedingly friendly, be able to deal effectively with difficult situations and be able to meet the needs of a constantly changing visitor flow.

     

    Main responsibilities:

     

    • Provide access information for visitors with disabilities including possible wheelchair or mobility scooter loans
    • Provide Blenheim Palace literature including Educational trails for children
    • Liaise with the Office Manager regarding the ‘Friends of the Blenheim Palace Foundation’ Membership to provide them with vouchers and newspapers and to process new members and renewals
    • Sell tickets to the Palace and special event tickets
    • Oversee and book visitors on ‘Special Tours’ of the Palace and/or Gardens.

     

    You will develop the knowledge to be able to direct visitors to any place in the Park and Gardens and an intimate knowledge of the ticketing machines and promotions.

  • Under Butler

    A unique opportunity has arisen within the Private Household at Blenheim Palace as an Under Butler.

     

    Key Responsibilities: (non–exhaustive)

    • Organisation of shoot parties and general hospitality
    • General events organisation
    • Responsible for the security of the Palace
    • Provide a swift response to intruder and fire alarms
    • Valeting
    • Traditional duties, including formal table service and service of drinks
    • Care of the wine cellar
    • Cleaning of silver and care of fine antiques and art
    • Assisting with housekeeping and deep cleaning carpets and upholstery, polishing brass, silver, mirrors, glass, light fixtures, and chandeliers
    • Candidates may also be required to provide silver service should the family be entertaining

     

    Candidate Experience

     

    Candidates must have front of house experience, specifically for shoot season and looking after large parties of guests, both formal and informal.

    • Candidates should have a neat and polished appearance
    • Must exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times
    • Must have a valid driving license with clean driving record
    • Be willing to work long hours when the family are in residence
    • Must be eligible to work in the UK
