Prize Giving 2011
Every year approximately 30,000 children and students visit Blenheim Palace on educational trips. The groups come to follow a variety of educational programmes encompassing subjects such as Science, Maths, History, Geography, Literacy and Art. The groups tend to tackle their academic work in the morning and then have a ride on the train to the Pleasure Gardens where the children lose the staff in the maze and let off steam in the adventure playground.
Some of these groups send in their follow up work and this is put on display in the Palace Education Room. Their work is always varied and of a very high standard. At the start of each year His Grace, The Duke of Marlborough inspects the work and chooses both individual and group prize winners. They are then invited with their parents and teachers to come to Prize Giving, which always takes place in April of each year.
His Grace has always believed that it is vitally important to use the Palace as an Educational resource and so the day for him and the children is a wonderful celebration of learning outside the classroom at its best. Each year at Prize Giving there are children from foundation to sixth form, from state schools and private schools and also schools for children with special needs; this means that the work of children from the whole range of age and ability is celebrated.
The work may be in any form or medium. Work for public examinations is eligible and photocopies are acceptable.
If you wish to submit work, then please download and complete this form.
